Within the Maya Tzolk’in (Sacred Count of Days) the daysign known as Ix (pronounced eesh) represents the enchanting, night-seeing, mystical energy of the Jaguar. This is the lunar, feline energy associated with the full moon. The Jaguar was one of the most important totem animals in Mesoamerica, and was often seen as the incarnation of “Santo Mundo”, the Earth Father or “Holy World”. As the energy associated with earth power, Jaguars were associated with wizards, seers, and the elite.

Our jewelry items that are representative of B’en include one-of-a-kind porcelain  pendants, some strung on cord, some beaded, some silver-backed, and some multi-fired with lustres. “Monumental” style items are those with the little “feet”. “Codex” style items are those without the “feet”. Sterling silver pendants are also available, along with personalized pieces. Click here for a Date Decoder to find the Maya Calendar equivalent to your date of birth.
