Imix (Waterlily)
Within the Maya Tzolk’in (Sacred Count of Days) the daysign known as Imix (pronounced Eemeesh) is representative of the primordial realm of Pure Potential that is the source of all creation. In Maya cosmology Imix is often depicted in the form of an “Earth Monster” or Crocodile that bears the earth on its back. It is also represented by the glorious waterlily that symbolizes the source of all sustenance and abundance. Imix is strongly associated with divinities of the earth, with birth, and with nourishment.
Our jewelry items that are representative of Imix include one-of-a-kind porcelain pendants, some strung on cord and some beaded; some multi-fired with lustres. “Monumental” style items are those with the little “feet”. “Codex” style items are those without the “feet”. Sterling silver pendants are also available, along with personalized pieces. Click here for a Date Decoder to find the Maya Calendar equivalent to your date of birth.
