Lamat

Within the Maya Sacred Count of Days the daysign known as Lamat represents the entrancing light of Venus, the brilliant star that often signalled important events. Perhaps because of its association with fertility and productivity, as well as its connection with the goddess of maguey, this daysign was also symbolized (by the Aztecs and other Mesoamerican groups) as Rabbit. In Maya mythology Lamat is strongly linked with the energy of leadership.

Our jewelry items that are representative of Lamat include one-of-a-kind porcelain pendants, some strung on cord, some beaded, some silver-backed, and some multi-fired with lustres. “Monumental” style items are those with the little “feet”. “Codex” style items are those without the “feet”. Sterling silver pendants are also available, along with personalized pieces. Click here for a Date Decoder to find the Maya Calendar equivalent to your date of birth.
