Ik’ (Wind)

Ik' (Wind)

Within the Maya Tzolk’in (Sacred Count of Days) the daysign known as Ik’ (pronounced Eek) is representative of the “Breath of Life”. Symbolic of Wind, Spirit, and the power of communication, the hieroglyph that represents this energy depicts a “T” shape, emblematic of the Tree of Life. This Ik’ daysign is also personified by Ehécatl, wind variant of Quetzalcóatl (Feathered Serpent), who brings the winds and rains that are essential to growth and the “sprouting” of life. This energy is sometimes seen as a type of “portal” between these realms.

Our jewelry items that are representative of Ik’ include one-of-a-kind porcelain pendants, some strung on cord, some beaded, some silverbacked, and some multi-fired with lustres. “Monumental” style items are those with the little “feet”. “Codex” style items are those without the “feet”. Sterling silver pendants are also available, along with personalized pendants. Click here for a Date Decoder to find the Maya Calendar equivalent to your date of birth.
